George “Brownie” Parker began Parker Tree Service in 1937 in Bakersfield, California. In those days, there were no boom trucks (aka, cherry pickers) and the rigging “systems” were just good ropes and knot tying.
Three out of four of Brownie’s four sons, George, Jesse and Joe, became tree climbers too, and the family business became known for its dependability, fairness and hard work ethic.
In 1978, the family moved to Halfway, Oregon, where Jesse Parker continues to operate Parker Tree Service in La Grand, Oregon.
George Parker and his sons, Blake and Nickolas, continue to operate Parker Tree Service with dependability and quality in Texas, located in the DFW Metroplex area.
Joe’s son, Justin, with fond memories of climbing and working alongside dad and grandpa, became a third-generation Parker tree climber and now runs Parker Tree Service in Caldwell, Idaho.
Brownie climbed his last tree at the age of 78. A lot has changed over seven decades, but dedication to the values the company was founded on have not. The Parker family is grateful to its many customers, and looks forward to continued service in the years to come.
